Kate Borland is a Public Health Nutritionist with over 22 years’ experience working in addiction recovery and mental health. She specialises in nutrition-based approaches to detoxification, emotional regulation and long-term recovery, delivering practical, evidence-informed programs across hospital, residential, non-residential, detox and justice settings. Kate also brings lived experience to her work and has been alcohol-free for 28 years. This combination of professional expertise and personal insight shapes her compassionate, practical and non-judgemental approach, helping people in recovery build sustainable foundations for wellbeing.
In this webinar, Kate will explore the powerful role nutrition plays in addiction recovery and mental health, with a strong focus on practical application for frontline services. Drawing on decades of clinical experience and program delivery, Kate will unpack how substance use impacts the body’s nutritional status, brain chemistry, mood, cravings and emotional regulation.
