Leon Gailitis is a seasoned AOD (Alcohol and Other Drugs) professional with around 20 years of experience spanning frontline NGO roles, leadership positions, government service delivery and program design and policy development . Currently serving as the Banned Drinker Register (BDR) Registrar, Leon brings deep sector knowledge and a commitment to creating meaningful, systems-level change. His career reflects a strong foundation in client-centred care and a strategic approach to public health and community wellbeing. Leon’s expertise bridges practice and policy, providing a broad perspective in the ongoing effort to reduce harm and improve outcomes in the AOD space. Outside of work, Leon enjoys hands-on creative pursuits such as rustic woodworking and building custom computers.
