The Association of Alcohol and other Drug Agencies NT (AADANT) is pleased to offer a two-day training opportunity to the NT AOD Sector. This training will be held the week of 23-27 May 2022, and further updates will be annouced in 2022.

360Edge will deliver the two-day face-to-face workshop with a focus on enhanced counselling skills for alcohol and other drug workers.

Enhanced counselling skills for alcohol and other drug workers 

In this workshop, recommended for practitioners with counselling experience or training, participants will deepen their understanding of counselling approaches and learn and practice a range of evidence based counselling techniques, including relapse prevention, other behavioural and cognitive approaches and motivational interviewing. 

Key Learning Outcomes

  • Deepen understanding of evidence based counselling approaches in alcohol and other drug treatment
  • Enhance skills in assessment and formulation
  • Learn to integrate different approaches
  • Enhance skills in selecting and utilising interventions

This is an enhanced skills workshop suitable for experienced and advanced practitioners or those who have attended the core skills workshops.
