The Association of Alcohol and other Drug Agencies NT (AADANT) are pleased to welcome 360Edge to deliver an online workshop "Superskills for Supervisors" on 25 November 2021.

Superskills for supervisors

This specialist skills workshop is suitable for new supervisors and those who are experienced but have had little to no formal training, to ensure that they have the right foundation theory and practice skills to offer powerful and effective practice supervision.

The workshop addresses navigating the supervisory relationship and blends the theoretical and the practical to ensure that participants gain both a deep understanding of the ‘why’ as well as the ‘what’ and plenty of opportunity for supervised practice. This way participants are better able to adapt their supervision to different contexts and people.

Key learning outcomes

• Identify and improve core supervisory relationship skills, including listening, questioning, guiding, and giving and receiving feedback
• Understand and utilise the reflective practice model of supervision
• Understand and practice self-reflection and self-practice as a way of improving supervisory skills
• Increase skills in motivating staff to use reflective practice
• Understand and utilise a framework to support decision making with ethical dilemmas
• Improve knowledge and skill in responding to staff exposed to complex client presentations

AADANT recommends attending this training if you are a supervisor, working in a management role, or looking to expand your skills to a leadership position in the near future. This training is not suitable for inexperienced/entry level staff.
