Online Survey: Your Voice Matters Lived Experience NT

Online Survey: Your Voice Matters (www.bit.ly/NTLENsurvey)

Our online survey relates to the treatment and care provided by government mental health services in the NT.  It was informed by a Lived Experience Consultation that we ran in Palmerston on the 3rd of May, 2021.

For those of you that haven’t heard of us, we are a volunteer operated network of Territorians with lived experience of issues related to mental health, trauma, suicide, well-being and alcohol and other drug use.  We include individuals affected by these issues, as well as family members and supporters.  Our network began in recognition that our experiences and voices needed to be strengthened to inform decisions that affect our lives.

Our survey is anonymous and no information will be published that can be used to identify any individual.  It takes less than 30 minutes to complete, and even less time if people chose to answer only the sections that are of interest to them.

We will use the feedback from our survey to:

  • Inform a submission for the Review of the NT Mental Health and Related Services Act (May-June 2021).
  • Generate a submission for the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability (July-August 2021).
  • Advocate for improvements to the quality of treatment and care provided by government mental health services in the NT (ongoing).

We would like to reach as many Territorians as possible who have individual lived experience of mental distress or illness, their families, and supporters.  We are seeking your support to ensure more Territorians with lived experience can have a say on matters which deeply affect their lives.

If you would like information about our survey, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Noelene Armstrong contact@livedexperiencent.net
