NT Skills Occupation Priority List Survey
Please see below information from Industry Skills Advisory Council NT (ISAC NT) about the NT Skills Occupation Priority List (SOPL) and the importance of your participation in this survey.
Every year the government issues a list of occupations of high priority that are in demand. Due to exceptional circumstances, the Northern Territory Government did not issue the NTSOPL for 2020.
The purpose of this survey is to understand what occupations you have in your business, if you have a shortage and what difficulties you are experiencing when recruiting to them. Should further reasons and impact (positive or negative) have occurred due to the COVID-19 pandemic, please use the comments box which will be available on most questions.
The Industry Skills Advisory Council Northern Territory (ISACNT) is an independent, not for profit organisation that provides advice to and gathers feedback from NT businesses on occupational skills shortages.
By completing this questionnaire and listing these occupations, we can ensure that your input is acknowledged, and your voice is heard. Your responses will provide a snapshot of the factors affecting occupational demand and supply in the Northern Territory labour market.
Analysis of the evidence we gather, will inform and guide workforce planning and development in the NT.
The Survey closes on 31st December 2020.
NT Skills Occupation Priority List (SOPL) is used:
- by the NT Government to prioritise skill needs and direct funding to develop the workforce capacity for these occupations,
- to inform business and industry workforce planning and development,
- to link training funding to skills demand,
- in the allocation of employer incentives for apprentices and trainees,
- to guide recruitment activities,
- to target qualified overseas workers to address skills shortages through skilled migration schemes (including NT’s Designated Area Migration Agreement – DAMA),
- targeting of skills in the Territory’s national workforce attraction programs.
The answers will be collated and will allow ISACNT to provide information and recommendations to the NT Government. Your voice is important to us.
