Novel Interventions to Address Methamphetamine Use in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities

Danila Dilba Health Service is a partner in a study called “Novel Interventions to Address Methamphetamine Use in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities” or NIMAC. The research is led by the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) and Flinders University with ACCHO partners.  The current phase of the study involves recruiting people who want to reduce or stop their use of methamphetamine into a randomised trial of a web-based app. Details of the research, which has all relevant ethics approvals and funding from the NHMRC, are on the NIMAC website at https://nimac.org.au/

We are seeking your help in letting people know about the trial and giving information about how to enrol. There is no further involvement needed from you or your staff but if you are comfortable to put up some posters and put out some copies that people could pick up that would be great. Equally, feel free to talk to any clients about the opportunity to join the trial if that is appropriate and helpful. Once people go to the website and sign up, the NIMAC research team will be their point of contact.

Feel free to contact Patricia Raymond, Senior Program Officer AOD patricia.raymond@ddhs.org.au if you require further information.
