NHMRC Public Consultation: Draft revised Australian guidelines to reduce health risks from drinking alcohol

The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) is the peak body for health and medical research, evidence-based health guidelines, and health ethics.

NHMRC is asking for feedback/submissions on the draft Australian guidelines to reduce health risks from drinking alcohol.

These guidelines are intended to help Australians make informed choices about their drinking and provide recommendations for healthy Australian adults, for children and young people under 18 years of age, and for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. The guidelines are also intended to form the evidence base for future policy making, health promotion and educational activities.

The consultation period will run from 16 December 2019 to 24 February 2020. Submissions close 5:00pm (AEDT) 24 February 2020.
