National Sorry Day and Reconciliation Week 2024

This Sunday 26 May is National Sorry Day, which marks the anniversary of the tabling of the Bringing Them Home report in the Australian Parliament in 1997. The day is an opportunity to remember the grief, suffering and injustice experienced by the stolen generations, acknowledge the strength of Survivors, and reflect on how we can all play a part in the healing process for our people and nation.

Sorry Day is followed by National Reconciliation Week (27 May to 3 June). The theme for this year is Now More Than Ever, a reminder that we all need to tackle the unfinished business of reconciliation.
