COVID-19 Update: Katherine Region

Please see information below from the Northern Territory Government regarding the outbreak of COVID-19 in the Katherine Region and surrounding communities:

The Chief Health Officer has made a new direction for people who have spent time in Katherine, Binjari or Rockhole since Monday, November 29 and have since left the Katherine area.

If you have spent any time in Katherine, Binjari or Rockhole in the past 14 days since Monday 29 November 2021, you are required to go get a COVID-19 test. You are not required to isolate but you are required by law to get a COVID-19 test and you will need to do that in the next 3 days (72hrs).

All of Katherine, Binjari and Rockhole is now an exposure site so if you have been there in the last two weeks and you are now outside of Katherine you must be tested.

The COVID-19 Disaster Payments have been reinstated in the Northern Territory for those impacted by the lockdowns and outbreaks who cannot work. Scam Warning

Services Australia has released a warning about a text message scam offering $750 payments for proof of vaccination. This is especially important for those in lockdown areas and vulnerable clients to avoid.
