COVID-19 Lockdown Lifted in Top End and Alice Springs

The Association of Alcohol and other Drug Agencies NT (AADANT) would like to confirm the latest lockdown update for both the Top End and Central Australia. As of 1PM today, Friday 2 July, lockdown restrictions will be lifted in both areas.

As the lockdown lifts, there are still some restrictions which are listed below which remain until 1PM July 9:

  • Masks are mandatory when leaving the home in places where social distancing cannot be guaranteed such as the shops, office spaces, hospitality venues, etc. If you cannot social distance (4m square per person) wear a mask.
  • All businesses must have QR codes for the Territory Check In App, and QR codes must be used for any length of time at any venue in the NT.
  • When entering the NT, you must get a COVID-19 test within the first three days
  • A cap of 10 visitors are allowed at any residential properties
  • Gyms, indoor exercise and markets will be closed for another 7 days
  • Close contact sports remain prohibited for another 7 days, this does not include sports such as golf or cricket.
  • When visiting hospitality venues you must wear a mask, but can remove the mask for a drink or meal while SEATED
  • If you are in line for a coffee/takeaway you must wear a mask
