Community-led Projects to Prevent Violence against Women and their Children

This grant opportunity will support specialist organisations to deliver community-led primary prevention activities across Australia that challenge the underlying social, economic and political conditions, and historical and cultural factors that allow violence-supportive attitudes and behaviours to thrive.

Organisations are invited to apply for funding to deliver innovative and community-led primary prevention activities for particular cohorts, groups or communities that challenge the underlying social, economic and political conditions, as well as historical and cultural factors that allow violence-supportive attitudes and behaviours to thrive.

The department is seeking to engage specialist organisations to develop and deliver community-led primary prevention projects across Australia. Applicants must be a specialist organisation with expertise in family, domestic or sexual violence, primary prevention or gender equality and demonstrate relationships with other organisations who work with, or represent, people from diverse backgrounds, as per Section 4.1 of the Grant Opportunity Guidelines.

Priority cohorts for this grant opportunity include:

  • Children and young people
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Women with disabilities
  • Women living in rural and remote communities
  • Culturally and linguistically diverse communities
  • People with diverse sexual orientation, gender identity or intersex status
