APSAD 2022 Darwin Conference

9 Oct. 2022 to 12 Oct. 2022

We’re excited to announce the 41st  Australasian Professional Society on Alcohol and Other Drugs Scientific Drug and Alcohol Conference dates and details.

The conference website is live with abstract submissions and super early bird registrations now open for the APSAD 2022 Darwin Conference.

The event will be hybrid, with the in-person event taking place in Darwin, Northern Territory from 09-12 October, with sessions also available online.

The Conference will provide an opportunity for networking and ideas sharing in a friendly and informal atmosphere with a cross-section of alcohol and other drugs workers; practitioners, researchers, peer workers, consumers, and policymakers. The conference will also contribute to building capacity and capability in alcohol and other drugs by providing opportunities for engagement and learnings; from early to mid career, and more experienced researchers and clinicians.

Abstract Submissions

We have heard you and we're pleased to announce that we've extended the abstract deadline by ONE week and abstracts will now close on Wednesday 4 May.

This extension follows a number of requests from the sector due to the Easter long weekend, school holidays, and those who are facing a busy time with COVID and other frontline responsibilities. We hope this additional week gives you the opportunity to submit an abstract.

The APSAD 2022 Darwin Conference Scientific Advisory Committee welcomes submissions of abstracts for original contribution to the field. The Conference program will showcase high quality and state of the art scientific research into alcohol and other drug treatment, prevention, policy and workforce development, and translation of evidence-based research into practice. We will also provide opportunities for front line workers to share their insights to inspire the next generation of clinically-relevant research.

Abstracts with a specific focus on the translation of evidence-based research into practice are welcomed and encouraged.
