AADANT NT AOD Sector Awards Night

AADANT will host the first NT AOD Sector Awards on May 18th 2021 at Wharf One at the Darwin Waterfront. Tickets can be purchased for the awards night and are available through the conference registration form here.

You may nominate workers and/or organisations in the NT AOD Sector for the below awards:

  • NT AOD Worker of the Year (2020)
  • Outstanding Contribution to Youth AOD
  • Developing Practice Award
  • Significant Contribution Award
  • Excellence in Harm Reduction
  • Excellence in NT AOD Treatment
  • Excellence in Indigenous AOD Programs

Nominations are closing soon, to nominate please email project@aadant.org.au with the name of the person you are nominating, the award type and why this person deserves the award. Please also include their contact details so they can be made aware of their nomination.

Individual Awards:

NT Drug & Alcohol Sector Worker of the Year (2020)

This award will be presented to a Drug and Alcohol Sector worker in the NT working for a non-government organisation (NGO) or partnered with a non-government organisation (NGO) who shows commitment, drive, perseverance, and dedication to the role. Please provide a short summary of the person you are nominating and their contact details. (Sponsored by AADANT)

Outstanding Contribution to Youth Drug and Alcohol

This award will be presented to a Drug and Alcohol Sector worker in the NT working for a non-government organisation (NGO) or partnered with a non-government organisation (NGO) who shows commitment, drive, perseverance, and dedication in working with young people who use drugs and alcohol. Please provide a short summary of the person you are nominating and their contact details. (Sponsored by Industry Skills Advisory Council NT)

Developing Practice Award 

This award will be presented to a Drug and Alcohol Sector worker in the NT working for a non-government organisation (NGO) or partnered with a non-government organisation (NGO) who is relatively new to working in the sector and shows commitment, drive, perseverance, and dedication to the role. This person must be a new worker within the last two years. Please provide a short summary of the person you are nominating and their contact details. (Sponsored by St. John's Ambulance NT)

Significant Contribution Award 

This award will be presented to a Drug and Alcohol Sector worker in the NT working for a non-government organisation (NGO) or partnered with a non-government organisation (NGO). Through longevity and dedication of service, this person has achieved significant outcomes, success and change for the NT community through direct service delivery or research and evaluation. Please provide a short summary of the person you are nominating and their contact details. (Sponsored by Chamber of Commerce NT)

Organisational Awards:

Excellence in Harm Reduction

This award will be presented to a Drug and Alcohol Sector worker in the NT working for a non-government organisation (NGO) or partnered with a non-government organisation (NGO) who is working towards minimising the harms of alcohol and drugs within their community in the NT. Please provide a short summary of the person you are nominating and their contact details. (Sponsored by CAAPS)

Excellence in Indigenous AOD Programs

This award will be presented to a non-government organisation (NGO) in the NT with an alcohol and other drugs program specifically for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) Australians. This program must have been operational in the last year and will have demonstrated innovation, excellence and contribution to minimising the harms of alcohol and other drug use for individuals and the community. Please provide a short summary of the program and organisation you are nominating and the contact details of the program manager.  (Sponsored by the Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet)

Excellence in NT AOD Treatment

This award will be presented to a non-government organisation (NGO) in the NT showing innovation, excellence and contribution to the health and safety of the community through an alcohol and other drug program. This program must have been operational in the last year and will have demonstrated innovation, excellence and contribution to minimising the harms of alcohol and other drug use for individuals and the community. Please provide a short summary of the organisation you are nominating and the contact details of the program manager. (Sponsored by the Northern Territory Primary Health Network)
