Central Australian Aboriginal Alcohol Programs Unit (CAAAPU)

The Central Australian Aboriginal Alcohol Programs Unit (CAAAPU) is a leading Aboriginal community-controlled organisation based in Mparntwe (Alice Springs) in Australia’s Northern Territory, committed to minimising alcohol and other drug (AOD) harms across Central Australia.

Guided by cultural authority and community priorities, CAAAPU delivers residential rehabilitation and support programs that combine evidence-based treatment with culturally responsive care, promoting healing, resilience, and reconnection to culture, family, and community.

Through community-led approaches, the organisation works to foster safer, healthier futures for Aboriginal people and their communities.

Our work is shaped by core values that define how we serve: Inclusivity, offering services for and by people from diverse backgrounds; Integrity, upholding strong moral and ethical principles; Trust, creating safe spaces for cultural identity and expression; Empathy, providing unconditional positive regard; and Social Justice, empowering people regardless of background or circumstance.
