AOD cultural liaison officer - Venndale

Kalano Community Association is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced person for the following vacancy in the Alcohol & Other Drugs Services Team.  
Brief Summary of role: 

Venndale delivers flexible, holistic, and culturally sensitive support to Aboriginal clients and the community to achieve better access to AOD services for Aboriginal people in the community.

The cultural liaison officer is a vital advocate for Aboriginal people accessing Venndale’s Residential Rehabilitation Program and will be responsible for ensuring cultural inclusivity through daily delivery of the AOD program as well as supporting clients through their journey at Venndale. 

This position will be based at Kalano’s Venndale Rehabilitation Centre in Katherine. 

Due to the Cultural requirements of this role, this is a Female Indigenous Identified position 

Salary and Conditions: 

Full Time - $55,000 - $65,000 

6 Weeks Annual Leave + 2 Weeks Sick Leave + 2 Weeks Ancillary Leave + 1 RDO per Month 

Hours of work: 

37.5 hours per week – 7.5 hours per day 
Monday to Friday | 08:00am – 4:30pm 

Selection Criteria

• Cross cultural awareness and effective communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a multi-disciplined client base, including persons who are culturally and linguistically diverse.
• Competent use of Information Technology, including software such as Work, Excel and Outlook
• Experience working with Indigenous persons.
• Knowledge and understanding of case management principals and practices.
• Training or experience in rehabilitation and/or withdrawal services.
• Good time-management skills.
• Current NT Drivers Licence, National Police Check and Ochre Card.
• Covid-19 Vaccinated
